Jeremiah 22:21 speaks in plain terms: I spoke to you in your prosperity, and you said, I will not hear. In Neville Goddard’s method, this speaks not to a history lesson but to a state of consciousness. 'Prosperity' is the outward sense of abundance in your world, the comfortable stories your mind tells itself. 'Hearing' the voice is hearing the I AM within—the always-present, unchanging awareness that knows what is true. When you persist in 'I will not hear,' you are clinging to a habitual pattern of disobedience, a youthful mind that refuses to align with its own higher law. The remedy is to reverse the memory: assume that you already hear and obey now. Treat the inner command as a vivid fact of your present sensation, and feel the release of alignment—the heart steady, the breath easy, the impulse to act in harmony with that inner voice. Soon your outer life reflects this inner accord, and the pattern of disobedience dissolves as the I AM asserts itself.
