Jeremiah 22:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 22 in context

Scripture Focus

18Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
19He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 22:18-19

Biblical Context

The LORD declares Jehoiakim will not be lamented and will meet a dishonorable burial outside Jerusalem, signaling the end of that reign.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the verse as an inner map rather than a historical note. Jehoiakim represents a kingly self clinging to egoic status and outward validation. The command that there shall be no lament indicates your consciousness refusing to feed that old persona with attention or sympathy. The burial outside the gates signifies releasing the habit of identifying with public opinion and with the city’s measured status. The true authority here is the I AM within you, not a political throne. When this decree lands in your awareness, you understand that the old king has fulfilled his purpose and is removed from the center of your mind. As you align with this inner decree, the inner kingdom becomes accessible—not through external judgments, but through the sovereignty of awareness. The result is the rise of the inner crown, a living reality born from awakening, not from history or tradition.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already ruling within; feel the I AM as your governing presence, and picture the old king carried beyond the gates, while your true crown rises now.
