Inner Birth Lament Renewed
Jeremiah 20:14-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 20 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah laments the day of his birth and curses the tidings that made his father glad. He asks why life should be filled with labour and shame.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the quiet of your own consciousness, the lament becomes a doorway. The day of birth is not an event to suffer but a signal that you are awakening to a new state of awareness. Your I AM presence is the builder of the day; the curses are thoughts you have believed. By quietly assuming the feeling that the day of your birth was blessed, you reverse the inner weather: the morning cry and noonday shout are simply rhythm of thoughts you can rearrange. You are not dragged by fate but choosing the inner movements of imagination. If you imagine that the birth of your day has already produced joy, you begin to live from the end. The overthrown cities and the cries become symbolic of old conceptions dissolving, making room for a life defined by your present awareness—the true, unassailable you.
Practice This Now
Assume now that your birth day was blessed; feel the I AM presence filling the day with joy. Close your eyes, declare, 'I am the I AM, and this day is born into freedom through my awareness.'
