Jeremiah: Inner Covenant

Jeremiah 2:33-34 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 2 in context

Scripture Focus

33Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
34Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Jeremiah 2:33-34

Biblical Context

The verses condemn a people who trim their way to seek love and thereby teach wicked paths, and they expose the blood of the innocent as evidence of inner corruption. It calls for accountability, not outward piety.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice how Jeremiah exposes the habit of trimming your way to gain love. In waking and dreaming you try to tailor circumstances to prove you are loved, and in doing so you train the subconscious to imitate corruption. The inner movement is what matters: belief shapes body, speech, and deed. The 'blood of the souls of the poor innocents' is the sign you carry in consciousness—the misery you tolerate as a prerequisite for comfort, the guilt you refuse to own, cast outward as judgments against others. The I AM, the awareness you are, is not a book or a ritual; it is the presence that stands beneath every thought. When you reverse the assumption and declare, I am the love that seeks nothing and therefore lacks nothing, you stop teaching your mind to imitate corruption. Your skirts become clean because you no longer hide a secret search for love behind ritual. The moment you feel it real that you are the cause and the effect of all you experience, judgment dissolves, accountability is welcomed, and the world rearranges to reflect your new state of justice and compassion.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: For the next minute, close your eyes and declare that you are the I AM—the love that seeks nothing and lacks nothing. Feel that state fully, and when a thought of deficit or judgment arises, revise it by returning to that assured, loving consciousness.
