Read Jeremiah 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God speaks of recalling Israel’s early devotion and espousals, affirming Israel as holy unto the LORD; the passage frames covenant loyalty and purity as the inner state of being.
Neville's Inner Vision
Whether you call it God or your I AM, you are the beloved who wandered after a promise in a wilderness that seemed unsown. Jeremiah speaks as the memory of your soul: I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me. See that 'Israel was holiness unto the LORD' is not a city’s history but your inner state of awareness. Holiness is separation in consciousness, the exclusive devotion you awaken when you refuse to trade your first love for appearances. The firstfruits of His increase are your clear, undivided attention—what you give, you become. When the outer world seems to devour or threaten, remember these are only dream-movements within your own mind; they cannot touch the sacred sanctuary you have chosen to keep consecrated. Your present is the wedding chamber of reality: you are beloved, chosen, and holy because you declare it in thought and feel it as now. I am the I AM within you, returning to itself through memory and decision. So stand in this assured tenderness and let your life flow from that inner covenant.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the beloved in your present life, and revise memory to 'I remember thee'. Then declare 'I am holiness unto the LORD' and feel that awareness as real now.
