Inner Correction and Covenant

Jeremiah 2:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 2 in context

Scripture Focus

19Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Jeremiah 2:19

Biblical Context

The verse declares that your own inner states discipline you, and your wandering away from God exposes your misalignment. It emphasizes personal accountability and an inner correction rather than external punishment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jeremiah 2:19 is not about distant judgment but the self as judge and savior. Your present consciousness is the Lord within; your feelings and habits act as the correction of your life. When you sense wickedness or backsliding, do not condemn the world outside. Recognize that such symptoms arise from a state you entertain in mind. The evil taste is the memory of separation you still cherish—an inner sense that you have forsaken the Lord thy God. Yet the Lord is not distant but the I AM in you, awaiting acknowledgment. If you fear, let that awe be directed toward your divine nature rather than punishment, for fear can become the discipline that returns you to your rightful state. Repentance here is inner revision: shift the inner state to union, declare that you have not left God, and feel the divine presence within. In this light, correction completes itself as you dwell in the renewed state by which your world is colored.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and, in your own words, assume: I AM the LORD my God, I am within me, and I never forsake the divine presence. Feel it as real now and let that inner state govern your next thoughts and sensations.
