Consider the city not as brick and street but as your present state of awareness. When the Lord says, I will do to this place and its inhabitants, He speaks to the inner dispositions you cling to—idols of fear, control, and worship of appearances. Tophet, the furnace, stands for the burning away of what no longer serves your true self. The verse is not a threat but a vow: you can become the architect of your own inner environment by assuming the truth of your I AM. If you look at any pattern that seems to be burning in your life—the fear, the pride, the need to prove yourself—see it as a sign you have outgrown a former worship. As you refuse to identify with those thoughts and instead dwell in the awareness 'I AM,' the former city is consumed and a new order births within you. The prophecy and promise lie in your decision to revise the scene, to awaken to a different version of this city, now aligned with love, truth, and creative life.
