Jeremiah's Inner Nation

Jeremiah 18:7-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 18 in context

Scripture Focus

7At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
8If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
9And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
Jeremiah 18:7-10

Biblical Context

God declares He can pluck up, pull down, and destroy a nation, yet mercy follows a turn from evil; if the nation repent, the harm is reversed. If it turns to obedience, He will build and plant again.

Neville's Inner Vision

View this as a map of your inner life. The nation and kingdom are your current states of consciousness—powers that rise or fall by what you entertain in silence. When you give heed to fear or to a story of limitation, you are pronouncing judgment on yourself; the 'evil' that God says He will repent of is the harmful forecast you have committed to as real. Yet the moment you turn from that familiar evil and listen to the I AM within, the inner voice that speaks truth, you reverse the decree: God repents of the harm, and you are free to receive the good you have envisioned. To build and to plant is the practice of choosing a new pattern, a new imagined end, and dwelling there in feeling until it becomes your habitual state. The two halves of the verse describe the pliable nature of consciousness: your turning either cancels the bad forecast or permits the good one to take root. So the invitation is practical: claim your state as the sovereign nation of your life, assume the end, and let I AM do the creative labor of turning desire into reality.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: when fear arises, revise it by saying, 'I am the I AM; I turn from this fear and build the good.' Then sit quietly, feel the wish fulfilled, and imagine one vivid scene where your desired outcome is already present.
