Biblical Context
In Jeremiah 16:19, the Lord is the strength, fortress, and refuge in trouble. The Gentiles come from far places to seek Him and acknowledge that their fathers inherited lies and vanity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah 16:19 invites us to see God as the I AM within, our strength, fortress, and refuge in the day of affliction. In Neville's view, God is consciousness, the awareness you are choosing now. The Gentiles coming from the ends of the earth stands for the turning of outward conditions toward your inner state as you awaken. Inherited lies, vanity, and profitless things are memories of a mind not yet identified with its true source. When you practice, you do not seek God outside but revise your inner sense of self until the outer world aligns. The moment you feel the inner fortress as real, you begin to notice that people, events, and circumstances come to acknowledge the truth you already hold: you are the I AM, the present power, and nothing can profit you but the awakening of consciousness. Thus the verse becomes a practical invitation: change your awareness, and the world changes to reflect the true inheritance—the presence within you.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and in the present tense affirm I am the strength and fortress of God within me. Revise any belief in outer protection by feeling the truth: no external power profits me; my awareness is my safe harbor. Do this for 5–10 minutes.
