Return From Inner Exile
Jeremiah 16:13-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah speaks of exile from the land and a coming restoration; God promises to gather the people back to their homeland.
Neville's Inner Vision
Exile, in this reading, is a state of consciousness that has wandered from the I AM. The land you call exile is the inner disposition that forgot its birthright; the gods you serve day and night are the cherished beliefs you have given power over your feeling of self. When the text says I will cast you into a land you know not, it is the invitation to awaken to the unknown inner terrain of your awareness. The return is not a political act but a renewal of consciousness, a revival of the I AM that brought you forth from the land of whatever limits you have accepted. The reference to the land of the north and to bringing you back signals a coming together of attention and desire within, a gathering of scattered states into a single, centered self. The LORD liveth is not a memory but a declaration of your living consciousness. You are the people; your return is now, as you decide to feed your life from the divine within.
Practice This Now
Practice: In a quiet moment, imagine your inner north guiding you back to your true land—the I AM within. Revise any sense of exile by affirming I am already in my promised land, and feel that realization as real now.
