Inner Cast: Casting Out The Old Self

Jeremiah 15:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 15 in context

Scripture Focus

1Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
Jeremiah 15:1

Biblical Context

Jeremiah 15:1 says that even revered intercessors cannot move God's mind toward this people, and they are to be cast out. It highlights a decisive separation from an entrenched pattern.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville’s view, the LORD represents the I AM, the permanent awareness behind all experience. Moses and Samuel are inner patterns or virtuous habits of intercession that once seemed effective. Yet the I AM cannot be swayed by a fixed, rebellious state. The instruction to cast them out is an inner command to release the old pattern from your field of attention so a fresh movement of perception can arise. This is not punishment of others but a liberation of your own consciousness from identification with the pattern. When you refuse to entertain the old story and instead dwell in the I AM as your sole reality, the old self is exiled and a new state of awareness returns. Suffering or judgment then serves as a signal to revise your inner state, not to condemn anyone. By aligning with the I AM and revising the dominant mood of your mind, you invite a natural transformation where inner exiles yield the return of life to your awareness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I cast out the old pattern; I AM.' Then sit in stillness until a fresh sense of self begins to emerge, as the new inner state takes root.
