Covenant Pride and Hearing
Jeremiah 13:8-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah declares that pride and idolatry breach the covenant; the people are likened to a girdle meant to cling to the loins, yet they would not hear. Their inner resistance to the inner Word mirrors our own misalignment with the I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the talk about pride and weighing allegiance to other gods becomes a mirror of your own inner landscape. The girdle that cleaves to the loins is not apparel of a nation, but the covenant of your attention—the steady hold of God upon your consciousness. When they walk in the imagination of their heart and refuse to hear, they move away from the I AM and turn outward, giving energy to imagined powers that only seem to bless the ego. In this moment, God declares that He will mar their pride, which is only the habit of identifying with personal will rather than with divine will. Your inner Israel and Judah are one Being, and the promise is to be a people, a name, a praise, a glory—provided you listen to the inner word. The truth is that the moment you acknowledge the I AM as the only actor within you, the imagined gods fade, and the girdle of your life naturally clings to the source. You are already that people, if you refuse to hear the siren voices of fear and pride.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your only power here and now; feel your life as the girdle cleaving to the divine source. Revise any leanings toward other gods and let the inner word bind you to the covenant.
