Jeremiah 13:15-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 13 in context

Scripture Focus

15Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
16Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
Jeremiah 13:15-16

Biblical Context

Jeremiah warns against pride and urges turning to the LORD your God before darkness comes; it shows that light can be lost if inner guidance is ignored. The message invites an inner alignment with the I AM to keep light secure.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jeremiah speaks of a people asked to hear with humility, for pride layers the mind with a veil. In my terms, the LORD is the I AM within you—the fixed, conscious awareness that gives meaning to every experience. When you refuse to bow to this inner sovereign, you invite a shadow ruling—a darkness that crowds out light just as the text warns. Give glory to your God, your higher self, not as outward worship, but as the decision that I AM am the only king in your kingdom. Before darkness edges in, before your feet stumble on the rocky mountains of lack and fear, honor the Presence that you are. If you still seek light while clinging to doubt, consciousness may turn light into shadow—death to the old self. The cure is simple: align your attention with the I AM, assume the end you desire as already true, and consistently feel that glory now. Darkness dissolves when you realize you are the light.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Sit quietly and assume the I AM as your only king; revise any sense of darkness by declaring I give glory to the God within, and feel the light intensify in you.
