Inner Heritage Restored By Imagination
Jeremiah 12:7-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage speaks of forsaking one's house and heritage and being surrounded by enemies. It mirrors an inner state of loss and threat within consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jeremiah 12:7-9 is not a tale of a distant exile but a map of your own mind. The forsaken house and the departed heritage are pictures of a state you have momentarily forgotten: you, the I AM, have let attention drift from the inner kingdom where you are cherished. When you read that the beloved of your soul has been put into the hands of enemies, know this is the moment your imagination has handed control to fear rather than to you. The heritage that roars like a lion in the forest is the power of your consciousness—the very boldness of life when you stand in a remembered, abiding I AM. The speckled bird and the surrounding beasts symbolize restless thoughts and external appearances that would devour your peace. Yet all these are only images your imagination has produced. You can reverse them by returning to the state you truly are: the house intact, the heritage secured, the beloved within you unconditionally loved. Assume that state, and the inner pictures rearrange to match your restored reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and revise: I have returned to my inner house; my heritage is secure in the I AM. Then feel the certainty of that restored state as if it is already real.
