Inner Contention, Outer Trials
Jeremiah 12:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Plainly, the verse says that small tests wear you out, signaling you’re not yet ready for larger trials, and that even family can betray trust. It urges you not to rely on flattering words from others, but to seek steadiness in your own inner state.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Jeremiah oracle, the footmen and horses are stages of your inner movement. When the mind has merely run with the lesser, it grows weary and mistakes that fatigue for reality; thus the heart believes it must contend with greater danger, but that is only the soul signaling its readiness to move from outward appearances to inner power. The 'land of peace' where you trusted others is a projection of your current level of consciousness; when those supports fail, you are not abandoned but invited to awaken to the self as I AM—the one awareness that never wavers. The breach by brethren and the house of thy father represents the ego’s familiar thoughts turning against you, calling after you a crowd of opinions, urging you to fear. Do not believe them, even when they speak kindly. Your true strength is the I AM, which can contend with horses because it endures as pure consciousness. To prevail, assume the end: feel now that you stand in unity with the divine, and the outer world must shift to reflect that inner victory.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the I AM as your true identity and declare, 'I have already conquered the horses of fear; I trust the inner God within me' and linger in the feeling of oneness until it feels real.
