Dissolving Outer Idols Within

Jeremiah 10:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 10 in context

Scripture Focus

4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
Jeremiah 10:4-5

Biblical Context

The passage shows idols decked with silver and gold, fastened to stand still, unable to move or speak; they cannot do good or evil. It invites you not to fear such forms and to seek true worship within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider, beloved, that what you call a statue of wood or metal is but a symbol of a fixed habit of mind. In your soil of consciousness, things appear as you believe them to be. The silver and gold are adornments you place on a concept, a belief that you have given authority and duration by fastening it with nails of habit. It is upright and seeking to stand, yet it cannot move because it has no life in itself. The palm-like height speaks to a form that stands and seems secure, yet speaks not; it must be borne as a burden of your attention. Jeremiah would warn: be not afraid of them—for they possess no power to do good or evil. The true power resides in the I AM within you, the one aware mind that moves the seeming world by its acts of imagination. When you realize that God is not in the idol but in your own awareness, you release the weight of fixed appearances and awaken to a living presence that can guide, heal, and elevate your life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM—the living awareness within you. Visualize the idol as a fixed thought dissolving into light and feel your inner life moving freely in its wake.
