The Former Of All Things

Jeremiah 10:16-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 10 in context

Scripture Focus

16The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.
17Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
18For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
Jeremiah 10:16-18

Biblical Context

Jacob's portion is unique because God formed all things; Israel is the Lord's inheritance. A call to gather your wares and prepare for upheaval that disturbs the old order, revealing the truth within.

Neville's Inner Vision

In you lies the true Jacob, the portion not like the world’s, for the Former of all things stands as your inward reality. The LORD of hosts is your I AM, the steady point behind every appearance. The line about gathering wares and inhabiting a fortress is a summons to cleanse the mind of defensive stories and fear-based identities. The promised distress is not punishment but a divine childbirth of consciousness: the old, fixed pictures must be displaced so you may awaken to the truth that you are the source of all you behold. Exile and return become cycles of inner revision, each shaking exposing the creator within. When you affirm the I AM and treat it as your real self, you rewrite experience from the inside out, and what was scattered finds its place in the divine order.

Practice This Now

Practice: Assume 'I AM the Former of all things' and, for a few minutes, gather every fear and belief as inner wares, then release them, feeling your awareness expand.
