Inner Idol And Alignment
Jeremiah 10:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Jeremiah 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jeremiah 10:1-5 warns not to imitate the customs of the nations or fear the signs of heaven; the carved trees and adornments are external, lifeless images, while true power is found in your inner alignment with the I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take the idol not as wood or metal, but as any outer form you have trusted for security. When you hear 'learn not the way of the heathen,' interpret it as a call to stop copying external beliefs and awaken to the inner law of consciousness. The signs of heaven are not powers to fear; they are images produced by your inner state. The customs of the people are vain because they deck a tree with silver and gold and make it move, a ceremony that shows how empty forms are when severed from awareness. They are upright as the palm tree yet speak not; they cannot act. Do not be afraid of them, for they possess no power to do good or evil. The power you seek is the I AM within, the awareness that enlivens all forms. Your imagination, when assumed as real, breathes life into phenomena. Therefore revise any image that supports fear or limitation, and insist that within you the divine governor stands established as the ruler of every situation.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state 'I am the I AM within'; feel the inner light dissolve every idol of fear or lack. Observe as your outer circumstances begin to rearrange to reflect awakened consciousness.
