Jeremiah 1:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jeremiah 1 in context

Scripture Focus

6Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 1:6-8

Biblical Context

Jeremiah feels unfit to speak because he is a youth. God tells him not to call himself a child and to speak whatever is commanded, for God is with him and will deliver him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the script, the speaker's 'I' trembles at the thought of speech, yet the deeper self knows that speaking is only the outward motion of an inner command. The 'child' image is a thought-form in the mind, a limitation born of memory and fear. God, the I AM presence, does not condemn the young vessel but calls him to awaken as the one who speaks from within. You are not separate from the messenger or the message; you are the consciousness that receives direction and realises it as action. When you declare, 'I am sent,' you align with the eternal current that knows no delay, and the words you utter carry authority because they are spoken by your clearer self, not by weakness. Do not fear the eyes of others; the true audience is the inner state, which remains untouched by appearance. The promise is simple: you are with me to deliver you; your true work emerges when you stop clinging to the image of limitation and rest in the I AM that speaks through you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the self-image from 'a child who cannot speak' to 'the I AM sent and speaking truth through me.' Feel the presence of God with you as you intend to speak and move in your day, and watch circumstances respond.
