Biblical Context
Jeremiah 1:15-16 speaks of the LORD gathering the northern kingdoms to Jerusalem’s gates and judging those who forsake Him by worshiping idols.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the inner eye, these verses describe not distant empires but states of consciousness within you. The northbound kingdoms are your scattered desires, doubts, and clever idols that set up thrones at the gates of your inner Jerusalem—the center of awareness where you say I AM. When you 'worship the works of their hands,' you honor thoughts and images you have given power to rather than the living I AM within. The LORD’s intention to utter judgments is simply the natural consequences that follow when you allow any idol to rule your life; the moment you truly awaken to your oneness, those external powers lose their hold and retreat. This is not threat but invitation: you can call all these inner kingdoms to the gates of your heart and demand alignment. Your true sovereignty is the I AM, the one awareness that can discern between the counterfeit gods of memory, habit, and fear, and the living presence of God within. The scene becomes your inner courtroom where choice creates destiny.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and rest in I AM. Assume the state that all parts of your mind gather at the gates of your inner Jerusalem, bow to the one I AM, and let the impulse toward idols dissolve.
