Presumptive Plans Revisited
James 4:13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
James 4:13 cautions against presumptively planning tomorrow as if we control every outcome. True wisdom arises when we acknowledge the I AM guiding each moment through Providence.
Neville's Inner Vision
To James’ words, I answer by turning the scene inward. The 'today or tomorrow' you speak of is a state of mind, a posture of the self that would measure life by calendars and currencies. Real life, my friend, is the unbroken I AM, the present awareness out of which every city, year, and gain arise. If you are to go anywhere, go inside first: revise the plan by assuming that you already possess the guidance you seek. Do not plead with fate; invite it with a firm, inner yes. The problem is not the world but the belief that you are separate from Providence. Humility is not weakness; it is the quiet readiness to be led by the inner Voice. Practice faith by feeling the future as a present fact and watch the external outward schedule rearrange to match your inner state. When you feel the urge to boast of what you will do, soften into gratitude for the inward lead that orders your steps.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of I AM guiding your steps now. Feel it real by silently repeating, 'I am led and provided for,' and picture a single choice occurring in the present under that inner direction.
