Wisdom From Above, Inner Peace

James 3:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read James 3 in context

Scripture Focus

17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:17-18

Biblical Context

The verse invites us to see wisdom as an inner state: pure, peaceful, merciful, and free of hypocrisy. When this inner peace governs our choices, we sow the fruit of righteousness in a peaceful world.

Neville's Inner Vision

The wisdom that is from above is not a distant doctrine but your own I AM state—pure, peaceable, and gentle. When you dwell in that I AM, every outward dispute yields to reflection rather than reaction, and the I AM chooses mercy and ease of entreaty, bearing fruit through calm deeds. Hypocrisy dissolves as inner conviction aligns with outer speech; impartiality becomes natural because you no longer separate truth from your own consciousness. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace; your life sweetens with right results as you seed peace in every encounter. As you assume this inner wisdom, you awaken to the reality that peace is the condition of consciousness you inhabit, not the weather of events. Persisting in the I AM, the world will reflect this inner harvest back to you as harmony and right action.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume the feeling, 'I am the wisdom from above,' and imagine a current conflict resolving in mercy and peace; revise a tense moment by seeing your response as gentle, just, and impartial.
