Inner Royal Law of Love
James 2:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
James 2:8 says that if you keep the royal law—loving your neighbor as yourself—you are doing well; love is the measure of true conduct.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine the royal law as a state of consciousness rather than a list of errands. When you say 'ye love thy neighbour as thyself', you are admitting that the other is a reflection of your I AM, a different expression of the same awareness. To fulfil the law is to maintain a steady attitude of goodwill toward every image who crosses your field of awareness. If you condemn or blame another, you are withholding love from a portion of your own being; thus you misread the law and feel separation. The moment you hold the other in the light of unity, you align your inner state with the truth that you are one with all. Then outward acts—your relations, circumstances, and opportunities—begin to respond to that inner fidelity. It is not the outside world changing you; it is your inner assumption about life that creates the world you see. Practice love as a living frequency, and the world will reflect that frequency back to you, revealing the royal nature already within you.
Practice This Now
Choose one person you regard as difficult, close your eyes, and assume they are your own I AM. Feel the love you would extend to yourself, and imagine a brief scene where you both share harmony; hold that feeling for a minute.
