Biblical Context
James 2:24 states that a man is justified by works, not by faith alone. Faith must express itself in action to be complete.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your attention must dwell not in a future salvation you hope to earn, but in the inner reality you presently inhabit. James speaks to the body of your life being justified by the consistent outflow of its nature, not by a single notion of faith. The word 'works' is the nervous system of the soul; they are the outward movements that reveal the state of your consciousness. When you stop arguing with your present sense of limitation and choose to assume a state of already-being-justified, your inner I AM rises and organizes the scenes of your experience to reflect that truth. Faith is not mere belief separated from action; it is trust that aligns with the action arising from your inner awareness. To be 'not by faith only' means faith must wake the body into its corresponding manifestation. As you accept the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you discover that what you do from that inner certainty becomes the evidence of your justification. The external world then rearranges itself to mirror the nobility you persist in, born of one inner conviction.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare, I am the I AM, justified now by the works that flow from my inner state. Then revise a current limitation by performing a small act as from that assured state, feeling the reality of it as you do.
