Biblical Context
James 2:12 tells you to speak and act as one judged by a law of liberty. Your outward words and deeds reveal the inner state you live from.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine that the law of liberty is not a rule outside you but a living consciousness within you—the I AM that you actually are. James calls you to speak and act in harmony with that inner covenant, so that your words and deeds are not scattered by fear or self-image, but are coherent with the freedom you already possess in consciousness. When you assume the inner state of liberty, you no longer plead for approval from without; you observe that the judge is your own I AM, and the verdict is consistent with your inner conviction. Your outward world becomes a faithful echo of what you entertain as real. The 'law' operates as you, in spirit, choosing, aligning, and declaring; you no longer negotiate your worth in the courts of sense, but affirm it as done in the timeless I AM. Speak from the fulfilled state; act from the inner decree; let the outward life merely reflect what you have already accepted within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the law of liberty; I speak and act as one already free.' Then revise a current moment by silently performing the new word and deed in your imagination until it feels real.
