Inner Exaltation James 1:9-10

James 1:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read James 1 in context

Scripture Focus

9Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
James 1:9-10

Biblical Context

James 1:9-10 contrasts rejoicing in exaltation for the humble with being humbled by wealth, teaching that true exaltation arises from inner state, not outer rank.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the brother of low degree as the man who does not fret over outward label, knowing his exaltation rests in the I AM that animates him. The rich, in being made low, are invited to relinquish the belief that status can define them; like the flower of the grass, outward identities fade. Exaltation is not conferred by others but awakened by your decision to claim the inner throne of consciousness. When you close your eyes and imagine 'I AM' as your essential being, you are the exalted one, regardless of bank statements. The moment you accept this, you reverse the outer order, letting wealth or poverty be appearances within a single field—your mind—where reality is born from awareness rather than circumstance.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of exaltation now by softly declaring, 'I am exalted in spirit, regardless of outward rank,' and dwell in the I AM until it feels it real.
