Inner Wisdom Through Faith

James 1:5-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read James 1 in context

Scripture Focus

5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 1:5-8

Biblical Context

James 1:5-8 invites you to ask God for wisdom, promising it will be given to those who ask in faith; wavering thoughts split your perception and prevent reception, leaving you unstable.

Neville's Inner Vision

Look to the inner actor as the I AM, the one actuality that gives wisdom liberally. When you lack wisdom, you do not seek it outside; you inquire within, and yet you must stand in the posture of belief as if the answer is already present. The wave of doubt that tosses a man to and fro is your own divided consciousness. Do not divide your attention between lack and supply, for that split mind prevents the grace of wisdom from entering your experience. God, your awareness, does not upbraid you; He liberally equips you, but you must dwell in the certainty that the gift is yours now. To receive is to settle the inner state, to "receive" as a feeling of already having the solution, not a future possibility. When you persist in this faith, without wavering, you align with the one power and your external circumstances reflect your inner decree.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, choose a question you seek wisdom about, then declare inwardly, 'I have the wisdom I seek now,' and feel that certainty as real. Hold the feeling for a minute, then move forward in your day acting from that assumed wisdom.
