Read Isaiah 9 in context

Scripture Focus

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Biblical Context

The verse declares that a child is born and a government rests on his shoulder, named Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. It invites us to see this child as the inner state that governs our life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the 'child' as the awakening state of awareness within you that has just been formed in your mind. The 'government' resting on his shoulder is the ruling order of your inner life—how you believe, imagine, and respond. The names are not external titles but faculties of your own consciousness: Wonderful denotes a perception that transcends ordinary thought; Counsellor is the inner guidance that speaks when you are still; The Mighty God is the power of imagination and the I AM you inhabit; The Everlasting Father is the enduring source of your sense of self; The Prince of Peace is the harmony that flows when this government governs from within. When you dwell in that state, you no longer react from fear, but from quiet, confident imagination. The world becomes a mirror of your inner governance, and peace becomes your normal condition. The verse invites you to inhabit this state as real now, not as a distant promise. You do not seek change outside; you assume the inner government and let the outer come into alignment with it.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit in quiet awareness and assume the inner government is already established. Say quietly, 'I am the Wonderful Counselor, I am the Prince of Peace,' and feel the peace circulating as real in your body.
