Isaiah 9:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These verses depict a moment when stubborn thinking invites pressure from outside. Yet the Divine Presence remains ready to be sought within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your inner theatre, the LORD setting up adversaries is the law of consciousness showing you where you are not yet aligned with the I AM. The 'adversaries' before and behind are the restless thoughts and old separations pressing from every side, demanding you acknowledge that you have not yet sought the Lord of hosts within. When you refuse to turn toward the Source, the mind devours itself with restless appetite; the 'open mouth' represents unfiltered momentum of fear and ego demanding to be fed. Yet the line 'his hand is stretched out still' is not punishment but a reminder that the I AM is always there, ready to respond the moment you turn your attention inward. The third verse declares you have kept your attention outward, away from the inner cause; the remedy is to repent in your own imagination by acknowledging your oneness with the Source and choosing to seek the Lord within as your constant state. As you shift, the outer pressures dissolve into quiet readiness, because you now know the events are but manifestations of your inner state, not external fate.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, breathe, and declare: I turn to the Lord of hosts within. I see all opposition dissolving as I hold to the I AM.
