Inner Immanuel Sign Vision

Isaiah 7:14-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 7 in context

Scripture Focus

14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
17The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
18And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
20In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
21And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;

Biblical Context

God promises a sign: a virgin will conceive a son named Immanuel, and before the child knows good from evil, the current powers will be set aside. The passage hints at invasion and pruning as an inner shift that reorganizes consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

The sign is not a distant event but a revelation of your inner state. Immanuel = God with us = the I AM awakening a new center of awareness within you. The virgin birth marks the birth of a new consciousness that will learn to distinguish good from evil not by effort but by aligning with the higher state. Before the child can discern, the land of your old identifications yields to a greater rule, signaling a shift in your inner kingdom. The invasion imagery becomes the pressure of a larger reality pressing on stale beliefs, offering you the chance to refine your mind. The hissing for the fly and bee points to the calls of unfamiliar influences from beyond your habitual thoughts; the desolate valleys and rocks symbolize the mind resting in quiet, enduring awareness. The razor shaving the head and beard denotes the trimming away of external identities by the emerging self. In this moment, awaken to Immanuel and let the old orders dissolve in the light of this new state.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and feel the I AM as the living Immanuel now; repeat 'I am Immanuel' until this awareness fills the scene around you. Then revise a present fear by affirming, The old rulers depart; I awaken to the new state that recognizes good and chooses it.
