Inner Vindication Isaiah 66:5

Isaiah 66:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 66 in context

Scripture Focus

5Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
Isaiah 66:5

Biblical Context

The verse comforts the faithful and promises vindication; it says that despite hostilities from those who cast you out, God will appear in joy and your enemies will be ashamed.

Neville's Inner Vision

Listen: the word Hear the word of the LORD is not a distant command but a call to awaken my state. The tremble at his word is the discipline of consciousness; the brethren who hate you and cast you out for my name's sake are the old self resisting the new. They say, 'Let the LORD be glorified,' yet the true glory is the appearance of the Lord within my consciousness as joy. When I refuse to chase the outer scene and instead assume the end, 'I shall appear to your joy' becomes the law of feeling. My enemies are ashamed as my inner state reveals itself as the lord of my day. The remnant's comfort is the vindication of the faithful not by external signs but by the conversion of my own sense of self; God is not out there but in I AM—the awareness that I am. So I revise the sense of separation, feel the joy now, and trust that the outer world will reflect the victory of my inner word.

Practice This Now

Practice: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the state, 'I am the joy of the Lord appearing within me now.' Feel that joy as a present fact and, for a few minutes, let the outer scene reflect your inner vindication.
