Isaiah 66:1-2

Biblical Context

God declares heaven as His throne and the earth as His footstool; He seeks not grand temples but a humble, contrite person who trembles at His word.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the scripture, heaven is the throne of I AM, and the earth is the footstool of my present drama. The question about building a house for God is answered by the inner sanctuary you cultivate in consciousness. God looks not at external temples but at the man who is poor in ego and contrite in heart, who trembles at the Word as if it were a command from I AM. The tremble is the quiet obedience of imagination listening to its own inner decree. When you entertain the sense 'I am this poor contrite self,' you release the belief in separation and invite the one Life to move through you. The inner Word then becomes law in your mind, and the world rearranges to reflect that state. So the temple you seek is a state of awareness—where humility, surrender, and reverent attention are practiced day by day. Do not seek outer buildings or systems; seek the inner posture that makes God look.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the poor and contrite, and I tremble at the Word within me.' Then feel the inner sanctuary as your throne and revise any sense of separation into unity with I AM.
