Zion’s Gates Opened Within

Isaiah 62:8-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 62 in context

Scripture Focus

8The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
9But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.
10Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
11Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
12And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
Isaiah 62:8-12

Biblical Context

God declares protection over your labor and that those who gather will eat and drink in praise. Zion is set apart as a holy, redeemed city where you are not forsaken.

Neville's Inner Vision

All the words of Isaiah live as states of consciousness within you. The right hand and the arm of strength are your I AM—the unwavering awareness that makes or unmakes your scenes. When it declares that your harvest will not be given to enemies, that is the mental law: as you claim dominion in consciousness, your perceived adversaries lose their bite. Those who gather eat and drink in the courts of holiness because your inner workers—your thoughts aligned with the good—are now free to move in harmony. 'Go through the gates; cast up the highway' becomes a practice of clearing mental thresholds, removing stones of doubt, and lifting a standard for the people—the standard being your fearless certainty. Behold, your salvation cometh with your work before you, a present reality in the I AM. You shall be called the holy people, the redeemed of the Lord—the inner nature renewed and sought after. And you, beloved, are a city not forsaken whenever you dwell in this truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled—see yourself walking through a bright gate into a city not forsaken. Dwell in that certainty for five minutes, and let the inner 'I AM' do the rest.
