Biblical Context
Isaiah 62:4-5 declares you will no longer be forsaken or desolate; you will be named Hephzibah and Beulah, and God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over the bride.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the scripture the geography of your land and your people is only the stage for a deeper drama: the marriage of consciousness. You are not forsaken; you are the beloved, and the Lord delights in you. Beulah is the state where your thoughts and circumstances are yoked to the divine Presence, and your life is a wedding procession drawn by the I AM. In Neville's terms, God is not an external power but your own awareness, the I that looks through your eyes. As you hold this inner union, your sons and harvests return to you in form because your inner state has become the pattern for outer events. The verse says as a young man marries a virgin, the thought is not physical paternity but the attraction of your own thoughts and conditions to reflect your awakened nature. And the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you when you stop seeking and start recognizing the living certainty of your being. This is the covenant established in your heart, here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your self-concept by affirming that you are Hephzibah, beloved of God. Feel the inner marriage taking hold as a warm presence within you, and let that assurance steady your day.
