Inner Zion Awakening
Isaiah 62:1-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 62 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares He will not rest until Zion’s righteousness shines and salvation glows as a lamp. The nations will see this glory, and the land will be named and cherished by the Lord.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within me, Zion is not a place but a state of awareness. When the Lord declares He will not rest until righteousness goes forth as brightness and salvation glows as a lamp, He is describing my own inner faculties awake and alight. The 'new name' I hear is the recognition that I am already the beloved of God, not forsaken or desolate, but Hephzibah and Beulah in my own consciousness; my land is married to the divine. As a man rejoices over his bride, so God revels in me when I hold this certainty. I set watchmen upon my walls—the steady, vigilant thoughts that never sleep—and I command them to awaken, speak the name of the Lord, and refuse silence. I will not rest until my life is established as a praise in the earth; until my inward Jerusalem becomes outwardly manifest as order, beauty, and power. This is not future hope but present reality in the I AM that I am. Persist in this vision, and the outer world will reflect the inner triumph.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, repeat, 'I am Zion; I am righteousness and salvation now realized.' Feel the brightness fill your chest; imagine yourself crowned and beloved, with watchmen of intention keeping silent until your Jerusalem is established.
