Priesthood of the Lord, Double Joy
Isaiah 61:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 61 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Isaiah 61:5-7 presents a reversal: outsiders will serve your flocks, you are named priests of the Lord, and you receive a double portion with everlasting joy as the reward for covenant fidelity.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the world you call 'outside' is but a mirror of your inner state. When you imagine strangers feeding your flocks and the alien’s sons guiding your work, you are witnessing the action of your consciousness organizing your life as you align with the I AM. The alien plowmen and vinedressers symbolize habits and beliefs you once tolerated; by claiming your true priesthood, you reclaim your sacred function within. To eat the riches of the Gentiles is to draw abundance from thoughts you once deemed external, for wealth in your life is the manifestation of inner authority. The double portion and everlasting joy arrive not by changing place, but by changing the image you dwell in. Your shame and confusion dissolve as you declare, here and now, that you are the Lord’s minister. The land you possess is the field of your own consciousness; in that field you reign as priest of God, and joy flows as the natural outcome of that holy state.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and declare 'I am the Priest of the LORD.' Feel your inner state shift as you allow the double portion and everlasting joy to settle into your consciousness, then picture strangers feeding your flocks as your thoughts yield tangible abundance.
