Garments of Salvation Within
Isaiah 61:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 61 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Isaiah 61:10-11 speaks of joy in the LORD, being clothed with salvation and righteousness, and foreseeing righteousness and praise springing forth like a garden within the earth.
Neville's Inner Vision
I am the consciousness that wears salvation as a garment and righteousness as a robe. My soul rejoices in God because this attire is a state of awareness, not an external garment. Just as a bridegroom adorns himself and a bride adorns herself, my inner life is richly arrayed by the conviction that I am already saved—right here, right now, in the I AM. The clothing imagery points to a settled inner condition: faith, gratitude, and fidelity to the promise that God’s righteousness is mine in this present moment. When I acknowledge this, my life begins to bud with new meaning; the garden of my consciousness awakens, and the sowing of righteousness and praise springs forth before all nations. This is not future hope but current manifestation—the visible fruit of inner alignment. The world reflects the state I entertain within; as I clothe myself in salvation, outer circumstances align with the inward righteousness I have assumed.
Practice This Now
Practice: in a quiet moment, assume you are already clothed with the garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness. revise any sense of lack, feel the wear of that robe as your immediate reality, and mentally tend your inner garden until righteousness and praise spring forth in your life.
