Anointed Mind: Inner Jubilee Proclamation
Isaiah 61:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God’s Spirit rests on the speaker to bring hopeful news to the humble, mend broken hearts, and set captives free. It also speaks of a special season of grace and comfort for those who mourn.
Neville's Inner Vision
I hear the lines as a description of the inner life you already possess. The Spirit of the Lord GOD upon me is not an external event but the awareness that I am fully energized by the I AM. The anointing is my decision to claim that I am moved by divine purpose, and the task is to proclaim good tidings to the meek—my own patience, gentleness, and quiet power. When I bind up the brokenhearted, I release the memory of hurt through imaginative reinterpretation, seeing past wounds dissolve in light. Proclaiming liberty to the captives becomes the freeing of mental prisons—old judgments, fears, and limitations relinquished by the realization that I am not a victim but a creator. Opening the prison to them that are bound is simply turning attention from bondage to freedom, here and now. The 'acceptable year of the LORD' and the 'day of vengeance' are inner seasons—grace arriving in consciousness, justice delivered by awareness, not by history. I am comfort for those who mourn by offering a new perception that heals.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, repeat 'The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me' until it feels true, then revise a past hurt by seeing it dissolve in light; then affirm 'I am free' and feel the freedom now.
