Inner Zion Awakening
Isaiah 60:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 60 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses promise inner glory and restoration: the holy place is beautified and the humble will be exalted, turning enemies into friends and declaring you the city of the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the text, see not a distant event, but your own inner state in movement. The glory of Lebanon coming to thee is the arrival of noble, enduring qualities into the sanctuary of your awareness, the fir, pine, and box becoming one fragrant temple of truth. I am not waiting for some future city; I am awakening to the fact that your sanctuary is already crowned by the I AM. The 'sons of them that afflicted thee' are those stubborn thoughts, fears, and memories that once tormented you; they now bow, recognizing your supreme position as the Zion of the Holy One of Israel, the inhabited presence of God in you. When you inhabit this awareness, the outer world rearranges itself to reflect the inner order: you become 'the city of the LORD,' a place set apart, radiant, protected by holy consciousness. The temple is not built; it is revealed in your moment-by-moment consciousness as your own steady I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are the city of the LORD in your heart; feel the Lebanon-like glory enter your sanctuary and let old doubts bow at your feet.
