Inner Nourishment for the Self

Isaiah 58:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 58 in context

Scripture Focus

7Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Isaiah 58:7

Biblical Context

Isaiah 58:7 speaks of feeding the hungry and clothing the naked. At heart, these are calls to nourish your inner state as much as any outward act.

Neville's Inner Vision

Isaiah's command to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and not hide from your own flesh is not a distant decree but a demonstration of how consciousness works. The hungry are states of lack inside you; the naked are your thoughts uncovered to fear and doubt. When you assume you already feed and clothe, you are not performing kindness to others so much as revising your inner state. You imagine the world as an expression of your I AM, and the outside becomes a mirror of your inner generosity. To hide from thine own flesh is to deny the oneness you share with all life; it is to pretend separation where there is only one rhythm. So practice from now: dwell in the feeling that you are generous, that every act of mercy is already done in you; let that feeling fill your consciousness and bleed into perception. As you persist, the 'hungry' and the 'naked' dissolve into your sense of self, and the world responds as living proof of your assumed end.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: For seven days, sit in quiet and assume the feeling, 'I am the source of nourishment for all beings.' Visualize feeding the hungry and clothing the naked within your inner scene, then carry that reality into daily life.
