The Inner Way of Trust
Isaiah 57:11-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 57 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Fear-based reliance on external aids is rebuked. The passage promises that those who trust in the I AM will possess the land and inherit the holy mountain.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of God as the I AM within, not a distant deity; the fear of men is a false security; the wind shows that external props perish. When you fear, you neglect remembrance of me; recall that I AM holds peace. The 'righteousness' God proclaims is your alignment with the I AM, which declares your deeds unnecessary; your trust is what places you in the land and on the holy mountain—the state of consciousness you now inhabit. The call to 'cast ye up, cast ye up' is a command to lift the mental road, to clear the stumbling block by acceptance of the presence of God within. You do not need a multitude to deliver you; you need to trust that the inner state already exists; imagination is your tool to revise the apparent world to reflect that state. Therefore, affirm: I am the land, I am the holy mountain; I trust in the I AM and witness the old forms dissolve.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your scene: I am the land and the holy mountain now; feel the ground of awareness beneath you and breathe the stillness as your own I AM. Hold that feeling for a moment and let the imagined state drive out fear.
