The Inner House of Prayer for All
Isaiah 56:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 56 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God promises outsiders a place and a lasting name within his house. The stranger who loves the Lord and keeps covenant is welcomed to the holy mountain and a universal house of prayer.
Neville's Inner Vision
Isaiah speaks not of walls, but of your inner sanctuary where the whole world may stand. The outsider is a facet of your consciousness not yet named by the I AM, awaiting recognition as part of your true Self. When you join the LORD, you align with the one law of life, and this stranger becomes a servant of your greater nature, held by a covenant with the divine. In consciousness the holy mountain is the elevated view of yourself as complete, joyful, and beloved; the offerings are acts of feeling and attention that honor the Self. The temple you tend is within: a sanctuary where every aspect of you is welcomed as prayer, even what you once called shadow. The house of prayer for all people is your entire inner climate, accessible wherever you place your attention. By this unity, the name you seek is not granted from without but minted in your awareness, an everlasting identity that cannot be cut off.
Practice This Now
Practice: sit in quiet and assume, 'I am the house and the name within.' Feel the welcome of every part of you, and dwell for a few minutes on the image of a universal temple, where all parts are accepted.
