Isaiah 55:6-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 55 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Seek the LORD in the present moment and turn away from old thoughts. God promises mercy and abundant pardon when you return to Him.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember that the LORD here is the I AM within you, the higher self you can awaken to in this moment. When the scripture says, seek ye the LORD while he may be found, it is an invitation to turn your attention from the ego’s wandering thoughts to the inner Presence that is always near. Your 'wicked ways' and 'unrighteous thoughts' are simply the habitual thinking of the small self; by assuming the calm, sovereign mind is yours now and feeling it real, you return to the LORD and receive mercy and pardon as your natural state. The line 'my thoughts are not your thoughts' reveals the gulf between limited, fear-based thinking and the divine mind; you don’t reach it by effort but by dwelling in the higher mind until those thoughts become your own. As the heavens are higher than the earth, your ordinary thinking is lifted when you practice alignment. In that state, you embody forgiveness and move with a pardoned ease. This shift is instantaneous whenever you presume the truth and persist in the feeling of the I AM guiding your day.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your heart, and repeat, 'I now seek the LORD within; I align with the higher mind.' Feel the Presence near as you breathe and imagine your thoughts being replaced by divine thoughts.
