Isaiah 55:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 55 in context

Scripture Focus

2Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Isaiah 55:2-3

Biblical Context

The verse calls you to stop chasing unsatisfying bread and seek true nourishment from God, promising life and an everlasting covenant.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, this text is a door into your own consciousness. People spend money and labor for that which does not satisfy because they have misplaced their trust in external things. The invitation is inward: incline your ear to the I AM within, listen to the still, small voice, and eat the good that flows from your true state. In imagination the soul delights in fatness not as gluttony but as the vibrant fullness of life that comes from alignment with the Covenant, the sure mercies of David made present in your awareness. When you accept this, you do not beg for grace; you acknowledge you are already the recipients of mercy, living from a covenant that never fails. The bread you sought is replaced by the awareness that you are consciousness, and the world you call material is but a reflection of your inner state. So, dwell in the feeling that your life is sustained by God-consciousness, and the outer will adjust to mirror the inward feast.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you have eaten the good; feel the fullness of life as your present state and quietly declare I am sustained by the everlasting covenant now.
