From Forsaken to Gathered
Isaiah 54:7-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 54 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares that a brief forsaking is followed by great mercy; His everlasting kindness and the covenant of peace remain with His people.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of God as the I AM within you—the self that never truly leaves. The forsaking you feel is a momentary distortion of consciousness, not a change in your essential being. When distance arises, shift your attention back and recognize the great mercies as your inner nature, ready to gather you into the wholeness you already are. The waters of Noah symbolize a covenant that will not destroy you again, so the inner law stands: you will not be wroth with yourself, nor rebuke yourself beyond repair. Mountains may depart in perception, yet kindness remains and the covenant of peace cannot be removed from the I AM you awaken to. In this view, your true state is waking to what you already are: the beloved creature of God, bearing lasting peace, regardless of outward appearances.
Practice This Now
Assume the state: I am gathered by great mercies; the sense of abandonment dissolves as I rest in the I AM. Feel the calm certainty of everlasting kindness and let it saturate my breath and body.
