The Inner Servant Within
Isaiah 53:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 53 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage speaks of a humble servant who bears our griefs and sorrows, yet is despised and unseen; we often fail to recognize the healing power within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember that the scriptural report is not a distant history but a statement about your own state of consciousness. The arm of the LORD reveals itself to the mind that believes the image it holds of itself. The Servant grows up before God as a tender plant, a root in dry ground—an inner image germinating where hope seems barren. He has no form or beauty that attracts the eye, so your outer conditions may look plain and unremarkable; yet this plainness is the hidden seed of power. When you acknowledge this inner image, you are invited to bear griefs and carry sorrows, not as a punishment but as a transformation of feeling. We may have judged him as smitten by God; in truth, the inner I AM is choosing to heal through receptivity and faith. The impression of rejection is the ego’s story; but the truth is that the Servant is beloved within your own consciousness, endowed with strength to bear what you call trouble. Believe that this inner figure speaks life through your senses, and your life will begin to align with that reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the Servant bearing your griefs today. Revise any sense of separation and feel the arm of the LORD supporting you now.
