Inner Law and Light Unfolding

Isaiah 51:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 51 in context

Scripture Focus

4Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
5My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
6Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Isaiah 51:4-6

Biblical Context

Isaiah 51:4-6 speaks of a law proceeding from God and a light of salvation, promising that outer conditions fade while the inner righteousness endures. It invites turning inward, trusting that awareness governs experience rather than appearances.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the seeker, these lines reveal not a distant geography but the inner map of your consciousness. The statement that a law proceeds from me is the recognition that, in truth, the life you experience is a creation of your awareness; when you settle in the I AM, your surroundings align as light shining on you. Righteousness near and salvation gone forth point to a felt state you enter by choosing to identify with your divine nature rather than appearances. The arms of God judging the nations become the mental discriminating power of imagination—your ability to classify experiences and return to your desired state. The verse that the heavens shall vanish and the earth shall age is a reminder that outer phenomena are transitory; what remains is your permanent state of salvation and righteousness, which you can call forth again and again. Lift up your eyes to the heavens and regard the earth beneath as your inner scenery: the heavens are your awareness; the earth your current conditions. The isles waiting on me and the arms you trust invite you to believe that all things await your inner decision to awaken.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state that you are the law in this life; feel the present salvation as real now. Hold that feeling until the outer world reflects it as your new conditions.
