5And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
Isaiah 49:5

Biblical Context

Isaiah 49:5 speaks of being formed by the Lord to serve and to restore the scattered people to Him, declaring the speaker will be glorious in God's eyes and sustained by divine strength.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse, the form and function of the servant are matters of inner state. You are the I AM, formed within consciousness to fulfill a sacred task: to reassemble the scattered Jacob back to the presence of God. Even when your outward life appears divided and the people are not gathered, you remain glorious in the eyes of the LORD because your essence is aligned with divine purpose. The source of power is not external effort but God within—the I AM that fortifies every act of service. By assuming this inner identity, you awaken to covenant loyalty, knowing your vocation is to awaken, to restore, and to unify the disparate parts of yourself. Your redemption and glory are not contingent upon external outcomes; they arise from the awareness that God formed you for this very service and that strength flows from Him within you here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and repeat: I AM formed to serve; God is my strength. Feel the inner unity as all fragmented parts return to the wholeness of God.
