Picture this not as history but as your inner life. The Gentiles, the standard, the nursing fathers and mothers, and even the dust at the feet are symbolic of the many states of consciousness within you. When you fix your attention on the I AM as your sole ruler and maintain a clear, unwavering end in imagination, you set up a standard that calls every part of you into alignment. The 'gentiles' become outward thoughts and pressures that once seemed to govern you; as you dwell in the end, these voices turn and serve your declared reality. 'They shall bring thy sons in their arms' means your scattered talents, ideas, and desires return to you gathered by your revised belief. 'Kings shall be thy nursing fathers' and 'queens thy nursing mothers' denote the higher faculties—intuition, wisdom, mercy—now sustaining you from within. Even the image of bowing and licking the dust yields to the realized I AM. And 'not be ashamed that wait for me' becomes your experience: in the now of steady assumption, you stand justified, unashamed, living from the proof of your inward state.
