Idols and Inner Truths

Isaiah 48:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 48 in context

Scripture Focus

5I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
Isaiah 48:5

Biblical Context

From the beginning, God declares the truth to keep you from blaming idols. Nothing external truly causes events; your inner state is the source.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the beginning I have declared it to thee speaks to the law written in your own awareness. The verse does not point to objects as masters but to the movements of your consciousness. When you cling to an idol or image as the source of your life, you project power onto form and call that power “reality.” The remedy is to recognize that the true cause and the true worship are found in the I AM within — your unconditioned awareness that names and permits all that you experience. God’s foreknowledge is a gift that prevents you from giving authority to images; it invites you to remain crowned by your inner truth, to align with the unchanging reality that you are the creator of your scenes. Embrace the prophecy and promise by steadying your mind in the assumption that you already know the truth, and that truth moves your world through your living consciousness. This is true worship: heart and mind united in the awareness of I AM, the sole power behind all forms.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and revise your current belief by stating: 'From the beginning I have known this; I am the I AM; no idol or image commands my life.' Then feel this truth as already real.
